What's "Animae"?

"Set in the most classic fantasy world, "Animae - The Key of the Shadows" is the story of Rhistel, a young half-human, and his constant struggle against bad luck (and his writer's wickedness).
Between (mis)adventures, trusted friends, inappropriate antagonists, nebbish enemies and unexpected twists of fate (yeah, kinda), it will be shown, chapter after chapter, the way to the dark fate that awaits the whole world... but mostly all our protagonists U__U

All this limited only by the author's mighty slackness..."


Animae's an italian novel, that didn't see the light in a proper way yet.
I, *NadezhdaVasile, am its author, but instead of writing the story I'm wasting my time just illustrating it. If you're on this page now is probably because you were brought here from my main account, as all the pictures I do about my project gets uploaded here too.

Animae's Setting and Characters Infos
Plots and storylines - some unImportant updatesYes, that's mostly for the records you know XD journals are perfect for this kind of things!
In response of a sudden realization, I decided to split in a definitive way the various storylines I use as subject of my illustrations...
Even though "Animae" is indeed the main story I originally started working on, some less important aspects of its setting have lately obsessed me become too complex to be just considered "background information"... It's confusing, not to mention that they hardly have anything to do with the main plot, except for the fact that they are part of the same universe and maybe share a character or two...
So, this morning I felt very industrious (read: I was too lazy to start drawing as I was supposed to), and finally made a couple of changes in my galleries, where now the illustrations are organized following the three different storylines I mainly talk about ATM:
Animae: the oldest and most spammed in the past 4 years (whose main plot is still unkPlots and storylines - some unImportant updates by *NadezhdaVasile
Character Survey: Sywyn
FULL NAME: Sywyn Nym'el [sai-ween neem-el], originally Sywynel Nym [sai-ween-el neem]. No surname known.
MEANING: Sywyn = The-one-who-walks/walker, El = under, Nym = Sun-and-Moons/sky.
NICKNAME: got many of them during his life, but the one which stuck on him the most is Vor'Ard'Ves, literally "the one who can ride the wind"... he got this nickname during the wars in the Westland, from the people of the desert; now almost everyone knows him with this nickname, the Windrider.
ACTUAL AGE: no one knows his real age as he never answered to this question, but just the fact that he took part to the wars in the Westlands makes him older than 400Character Survey: Sywyn by *NadezhdaVasile
Character Survey: Rhistel
FULL NAME: Rhistel Aidan from Sentes. His real surname got lost, since he was too little to remember it when he was found.
MEANING: "Rhistel" doesn't have any particular meaning, while Aidan means "blessed by the Gods" in the sacred language. Sentes is the village he comes from.
NICKNAME: Among the servitude in his mansion and people of his feud he's often addressed as "bran luth", which means something like "silent/quiet lord", referring to the fact that he almost never speaks or even shows himself around at all. Everyone else just call him with his name, except for Sywyn who calls him "shadowling" or just "bookworm", depending on his moodCharacter Survey: Rhistel by *NadezhdaVasile

#LaChiaveDelleOmbre is a group dedicated to my fantasy novel "Animae". Here I gather all the works I did about it and all the art I received from other people (gift, commissions, prizes and contest entries)

Gallery Folders
  • Animae's Setting and Characters Infos: contains characters sheets, artworks that provide informations about the story in their artist description and also specific deviation about the main setting of Animae.
  • Animae's Characters: contains artworks focused on a specific character depiction. Pictures in here work as valid reference for the Animae's cast.
  • From Animae: contains illustrations about scenes directly taken from Animae's main storyline
  • Random Illustrations: as the title says, contains works not really related to Animae's story, but mostly focused on the illustration purpose
  • Spin off and Side stories: contains informations and illustrations about characters and events that don't belong to the main Animae's storyline.
  • Friends and Guests: contains works depicting Animae's characters interacting with characters from other stories, mostly belonging to my friends. This folder also contain guest artworks.
  • Animae by You: Folder dedicated to guest artworks about Animae: giftart, commissions, prize art. This folder is the only one open for submission when there isn't any contest going on. Deviation submitted must be Animae related of course, so if you stumbled in this group thinking it's just an art-dump group, I'm sorry, it's not like this...
  • Entries to past Animae's Contest: as the title says, contains all the entries to Animae's contest I held in the past
  • Fun Stuff and Memes: contains everything I did about Animae that doesn't belong to the other folders, plus memes about the characters and artworks made just for fun
  • Animae - La Chiave delle Ombre: one day it will contain the chapters of the story.. one day...

Sarei curioso di leggere questa storia, ma i personaggi per ora disegnati mi sanno di già visto... anche tanto...
però, se mai, come dici te, smettessi di perdere il tuo tempo disegnando i personaggi e cominciassi a scrivere qualcosa sulla trama, sarei comunque curioso di leggere
a presto!
